Do You Even Know My Name?
Has this ever happened to you? You are out on a date, and half way through, you bump into a friend, and when you go to introduce them, you realize that you have completely forgot your date's name.
So maybe this has not happened to you, but it happens to me all the time! I know, pathetic! More than once I have had a girl walk out half way through because she realizes that I have no idea who she is.
So what the heck do you do about it?
To avoid this problem, I came up with a 5 simple techniques to help find out my date's name. They are not perfect, but I scraped through more than a few sticky situations with at least one, if not all of them in hand.
The 5 techniques for remembering your dates name:
1. If I am half way through a date and I realize that I have no idea what the girl's name is, I make sure to maintain eye contact during most of the date. As long as we are looking at each other, I do not have to say her name to get her attention.
2. If I do not have her phone number programmed in my phone, I will ask her to enter her details for me. I claim that it is a new phone, and that it drives me nuts everytime I try to enter information. I tell her that maybe she will have better luck than me. It always works! And bingo, I have her number stored for future reference!
3. If I do bump into a friend, I make sure to drop the secret password. "Hey [friend’s name] how was the game today?" Translation "I have no idea what my dates name is, so introduce yourself". My friend will immediately introduce him/herself so that I don't have to, and in doing so, my date will also introduce herself. Problem solved!
4. Another (more risky method) is to talk about nicknames people used to give you as a kid, in hopes of revealing their true name. You may have seen this technique used on a Seinfeld episode where Jerry has forgotten his date’s name. She tells him that her name rhymes with a sexual part of the body, leaving Jerry with only one name that he can think of - Mulva. Her name is actually Deloris. I have only been able to pull this trick off once, and I would recommend not trying it unless you are absolutely stuck.
5. The final method is the most risky, but also offers the greatest chance of getting the name correct. Ready for it!? ... Simply admit that you forgot. I have only been slapped once for this, twice the girl was okay, and five times I pretty much got the hint that the date was over. Although, with a little more wine, and a little more sweet-talk, I was able to save the evening.
Hopefully you don't find yourself in this situation too many times. But if you do, remember these 5 techniques for remembering your dates name, and keep a right hand ready to block a slap if unsuccessful.
- Happy dating everyone!

Top 10 Reasons Why Relationships Fail
Most people will go through a variety of breakups throughout the course of their lives. Some are easy to get over, some are easy to get under, and others seem to destroy the very fabric of your being.
So why do relationships even have to end? You probably thought it was going pretty well, right? WRONG!
The reality is, that if the relationship ended, somebody did something wrong. Unintentionally or not, a relationship ends when one or more persons decides that you are simply no longer a match.
It may not be your fault, or it actually could be your fault. The only way to truly know is by scanning through this list to see if you did any one or more of the following things. If so, you may want to reconsider your strategy in the next relationship.
If you don't fall in any of the following Top 10's, then hey, you are probably not the reason. And when they gave you the classic, "it's not you, it's me." they may have actually meant it.
The Top 10 Reasons Why Relationships Fail
#10. You were caught cheating
#9. You call every night to make sure your lover made it home safe. (If you are thinking, "what's wrong with that?" you might as well stop reading now)
#8. After only a couple months of dating, you started farting under the covers
#7. Your best friend always hangs out with both of you, even on Friday nights. (Friday is DATE night people! Not, hang with your best friend who you feel sorry for because thay don't have anyone.)
#6. You show up randomly at the other persons work saying that you wanted to surprise them. (The reality is that you were checking in to make sure there was no mid-day hanky panky going on)
#5. You forced the other person to go to your church every Sunday, even though they are not religious.
#4. You obsess about everything! (So not cool, and seriously annoying)
#3. You work more than 10 hours everyday, and even on weekends.
#2. You decided that sex is something that should be saved for special occasions such as birthdays and Christmas.
#1. By far the biggest reason why relationships fail. (Whether you want to hear it or not). You let yourself go. (Weight gain, hair where it shouldn't be, skipping showers etc. It all adds up people!)
Now that we have cleared that up, it is time to pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and move on to the next relationship (or possibly rebound). There are tons of single people out there, so enjoy yourself!
It will only be a matter of time before you wind up in a relationship all over again.

Online Dating Website Review (2010)
Here at DateMeDammit we think that online dating is the "lazy-dater's" way out. It takes minimal effort. You can lie about your age, you career, and your looks. And the reality is, it's just not near as fun as going out and meeting people in person.
But hey, who are we to judge? Over 10 million people hook-up on online dating sites in North America every year.
The best thing we can do for you is review the dating sites, and give our most "unbiased" opinion. Ok, to be fair, the opinion is going to be extremely biased, but at least it will be honest!
Enjoy!
The 2010 Online Dating Website Review
Featured in this section are a few dating sites that you have likely never heard of. We thought you might be interested in hearing about something other than eHarmony.
Match.com
- Likely one of the larger dating websites included in this list, boasting an impressive 15 million users. Match.com offers you the chance to browse other people's profiles for free. However, if you want to contact them and open a conversation, you have to pay.
The match.com website is very well laid out, and offers paid members the opportunity to wink, email, or IM other members, which is kind of cool. The problem we have with Match.com is that they force you to sign up before offering any information about the site. There is no rates section, or even an about us section unless you enter your email address first. Let us know if you have some insider info to share about this site.
Friends Reunited Dating
- Friends Reunited claims to have over 50% of the adult internet population in the UK signed up to their services. There is no way for us to verify this, so take it as you will. You can sign up for what they call a Standard Membership, which is free, but as with any site, this offers only limited functionality. In order to get the most out of your account you will have to pay for a Full Membership. The full membership is the only way that you will be allowed to contact other members who you are interested in.
If you are still day dreaming about that old fling from high school, or that girl from down the street, this may be the site for you. If you are just looking to hook-up, there are likely some better options out there.
Mingles.com
- Mingles.com only caters to the United States, so if you are not from the USA, don't even bother checking it out. The site is a bit of a Facebook wanna-be, but who isn't these days? The best thing is that it is 100% FREE, and they moderate users to try and avoid spam. However, you will be hit with advertising on every corner, so be mindful of this. One other bonus is the video chat, so at least you can verify that the person you are flirting with is not a 70-year-old man (unless you are into that kind of thing).
At the end of the day, you can't go wrong trying a dating site that is free. If at any point they ask you for a payment, kindly remind them that they have offered a free service, and this would be in violation of their TOS. So for those hard up American's out there, you may want to give this one a try.
Yahoo! Personals
- The rates for Yahoo! Personals are a bit high for an online dating site. The cheapest rate plan is about $16/month. However, Yahoo! Personals has a HUGE database, so if you like to have selection; this is the place to be.
One bonus is that each online dater gets their own secure, anonymous, mailbox. This keeps your identity secret for online flirting, which can make the experience a little more comfortable. And as if you online daters could not get any lazier, they offer a matchmaking service that will hook you up with other singles that fit your personality type (based on a survey of information that you fill out in your profile). Welcome to carefree dating for "busy people".
ChristianCafe.com
- A worldwide dating site for the Christian singles. Christian cafe is the one-stop-shop for daters who find religion to be a top priority in their choice of mate. The bonus is that you no longer have to cruise the church in search of a date- you can now do it all online.
The site is really poorly organized. Christian Cafe basically makes you sign up for their 10-day free trial, without any information on how the site or service works. They claim to have a large database of daters, but again this could not be verified. Proceed with caution, and be sure to opt out of payment before the 10 day free trial is up, if you do not like the service.
Ashleymadison.com
- Claiming to have 5.6 million users, Ashley Madison is the ultimate cheater's website. The service is designed to help married people have affairs. Recently the site took a lot of heat from news sources around North America for their potentially immoral services, but I think this only served to up their reputation and client base.
It is an interesting concept, and one that gets the heart racing and the cheeks flush just thinking about it. You have to decide what kind of dating you are interested in. It is no secret that affairs go on all the time; this is just another way of helping them happen. I imagine that a few of you will sign up just out of curiosity.
Anastasia Dating Service
- Looking for a Russian wife? Anastasia Dating services claims to offer you this very opportunity. DateMeDammit has decided not to take this site very seriously, and we decided not to sign up. But we would love to hear a review from anyone who has.
Catholic Match
- Catholics can now find love online. The size of the database is unclear, but the site claims to have a high success rate at hooking up Catholic singles. Catholic Match promotes their service as a matchmaker that brings people together based on faith, not formulas. We have no idea what that means, but we are going to assume that this has something to do with God?
The bonus is that this site has been around for just over 10 years, so the database should have a strong base. Check it out if you are the Catholic type, and share the blessing with us here at DateMeDammit.
OnlineBootyCall.com
- The site that boasts that you "don't have to promise marriage just to get a date". This site has it all for the horny male. You can rate booty, find a date, search profiles, and post pictures. They claim to have thousands of members sign up daily, but we assume that it is more like a hundred or so.
Be careful with this one, as we think that there are a lot of "bait" girls in the system to keep men interested. If you do happen to find a nice legitimate girl, then hey, all the power to you. The downfall is that they ask for a bunch of information without letting you do a tour of the site. If you do not mind signing up for a trial, then by all means, give it a go.
Have you tried one of these dating services? We would love to hear about your experience. Submit a review in the comments section below.

5 Strategies for Second Date Romance
A successful first date usually means that you found some sort of connection. Either that or you just felt sorry for the other person and simply could not refuse when they asked you out again.
Since you are reading this article, I am going to assume that you are definitely interested in the person you are dating. So how do take the second date from ordinary, to extraordinary?
Easy - amp up the romance with these 5 strategies for a sexier and steamier date.
1. Take a Latin Dance Class Together
There is nothing steamier than getting up close and personal with your date in a Salsa class. The Latins really know how to amp up the romance with moves that will have your hips shaking and knees rubbing together for the entirety of the class. There are tons of drop in Latin dance classes in every major city, so be sure to check one out.
2. Visit a Hot Tub Spa
Water is one of the world's greatest aphrodisiac and the spa is a great place to enjoy the playfulness of getting half-naked with each other. There are plenty of mineral pools and spas that offer hot tub experiences. So tell your guy/girl to bring their swimsuit for a date they will never forget.
3. Take a Workout Class Together
Not only is it extremely sexy to watch your date work out in tight clothes, scientists have found that exercise increases the sexual appetite of both men and women. This is due to increased levels of testosterone produced during an exercise routine, a powerful hormone that increases sexual desire for both sexes. So the next time you consider doing your aerobics routine before that date, you may want to consider dragging your date along. You will not regret it!
4. Erotica-fy the Date
Feeling adventurous? Take your date to a whole new level and explore the wonderful world or erotica. Visit the adult section of a local bookstore, go to an X-rated comedy show, or pick a movie on TV that features various scenes of soft-core sensuality. If this does not steam things up, I don't know what else will.
5. Create the Romance
Take the time to show that you are more than just a great looking package. With a few candles, a home cooked dinner, and a nice bottle of wine, you can seriously amp up the romance on your second date. This may sound simple, and cheesy, but the reality is that almost 90% of what people find attractive in a person on the second date is conversation related.

100,000 Condoms Vancouver Olympics
Health Officials distributed over 100,000 condoms throughout Olympic village before the official start of the Olympic games in Vancouver, Canada. This works out to roughly 14 condoms per athlete.
In comparison, during the Sydney summer Olympics on 2000, health officials distributed 70,000, falling short by 20,000 in the end.
With so much testosterone flying around the village, enhanced by the awe of adoring fans, it is any wonder these athletes even make it to their events on time. One athlete even went as far as saying, "I spent so much time in a state of lust that I could have passed out." And with the Canadians taking more gold than any other nation in the history of the Olympic games, there is enough bling floating around the village to get even the saddest of athletes a tug under the bleachers.
The true test will come 9 months from now, when the results of the late night parties will be felt in hospitals world wide. Screaming babies will be a sure sign that either there was not enough condoms in the village, or the quality of those condoms simply did not measure up.
Either way, GO CANADA! Congrats on an excellent winter games!

Bumping Uglies - Online Dating Style
Consider this. The explosion of online dating sites and other such media over the last 10 years is not new to anyone born with a computer. It is an effective way to meet other singles right? You make a profile, post a few pictures cut out of a magazine (claiming to be you) and you are off to the races. Simple enough.
But now there is a new revolution in play. One that has taken virtual dating to a whole new level - dating in Second Life.
Avatars are wining, dining, and romancing all over the web. Buff bodied princes, and equally well-endowed princesses are bumping and grinding in every corner of our digital world. With a swivel of the mouse and a heavy grind on the 'g' key and everything is sweet right?
Hmmm.... Maybe not. It only took one adventurous phonecall for a woman from Oaksville to find out she had been bumping uglies with a 12 year old boy from India. Or the case where after marrying in Second Life 2 Canadians decided to meet for the first time, only to be revolted at how unlike the Avatar the real person turned out to be. Online Devorce proceedings are still going on with a bitter dispute over who gets the mansion they built on Cappa 9.
The worst part is that many of these online daters are already in relationships, and even married, but don't see this as cheating! Now we have issues! But hey, maybe the guy with the mouse in one hand and a box of tissues in the other deserves some 80 year old attention, who am I to judge?
The reality is, although the cut out pictures from magazines are much more advanced than they used to be, online dating is still a fools game. Some do find love, true, but nothing will ever compare to the unadulterated love and attraction you feel from the swirling energy in real life.
Plus, I have never fallen in love with an 80 year old man posing as a 21 year old girl in real life, how many Second Lifers can claim the same?

He Dumped Me On Our Anniversary
Has this ever happened to you? Dumped on Valentine's Day, Christmas, your birthday, or even worse, your anniversary. It seems like the most inopportune time, and yet he did it anyway.
I knew a girl who was dumped on her anniversary. They had been together for 3 years, and for that particular anniversary, they decided to have a quiet night at the movies. They decided to catch the early show, and meet at the theater straight from work. She arrived before he did, so she purchased the tickets and waited by the door. 5 minutes later, he arrived and they made their way past the "ticket checker" and onto the escalator toward the upper theaters.
It was there, on the escalator, that this particular gentleman (and I use the terms gentleman extremely loosely) turned to her and said, "It's not working out. I am breaking up with you."
She was obviously stunned by the comment, given that up until that point there had been no obvious issues in their relationship. She attempted to ask him why, but he had already bolted up the escalator and was making his way down on the opposite side.
She pursued him, chasing him down the escalator, through the lobby, and into the parking lot. He quickly jumped in his car and sped away. She tried to follow him, but he had made his way through a set of lights just before turning red, leaving his former girlfriend alone, in her car, weeping at a red light.
He never returned her phone calls, and she never got a solid answer as to what exactly happened that night.
This is the absolute worst break up I have ever heard of, and one she certainly did not deserve, but it seems to happen all the time. Why?
The most important aspect for any break up is closure. If you break up with someone, you already have closure; you do not need an explanation because it was your decision. For the person being dumped, it can be the worst feeling in the world. Without a reason, an explanation, a few minutes of respect to say, "hey, I just feel we are not right for each other because..." This is the most important consideration that you can give to someone whom you are breaking up with, and can help ease any pain or embarrassment they may be feeling.
In the same respect, if you are being broken up with, and you do get an explanation, then please do yourself a favor and let it go. If he has expressed why he is no longer interested, then you must respect the effort it takes to be honest, and don't slam the door in his face, or slap him silly. There will be so many men in your life that this one will become a humorous memory for pub chat in the future (believe me!).
He dumped me on our anniversary, and she punched me in the stomach... ah the joys of dating.

How to Meet Girls - The Ice Breaker Strategy
The age-old question with over a billion answers from everyone including friends, parents, grandparents, bartenders, teachers, and even the guy sitting at the table across the coffee shop who just happened to be listening in on your quest for advice.
So who has the answer, is it the experienced? The good-looking? The passive observers? Even... your parents? The answer is doubtful that any of these sources can provide you with truly useful advice. It is not for lack of trying, it is simply that the strategy of one, rarely works for another.
So if this is true, how do you get any advice?
The answer is simple, go to multiple sources and look for the commonalities. I know, I know, this takes a lot of time, time you are not willing to spend. After all, you want to meet girls now, right?
Fair enough!
That is why I have created this quick guide to meeting the girl of your dreams.
The IceBreaker Strategy
Finding a girl that you are interested is rarely ever the problem, so I will assume that you already have a girl in mind.
The first step is simply getting a dialogue going. Whether you are at school, work, the bar, an amusement park, or even just for a walk down the street, you need to start by talking. The key to this is finding something that you can be both mutually interested in. Take a moment and look at what she is doing. Is she dancing, walking her dog, playing drums with her pencil - look for clues that will let you know what she likes and most importantly, dislikes.
When you approach her, be honest and genuinely interested in the conversation starter that you are just about to begin. If you notice she has a dog, ask her genuinely, "what kind of dog is that?" If she is dancing, ask her genuinely, "would you care to dance?" (And don't immediately try to perv and grind all over her - show respect!). If she is tapping a beat, ask genuinely, "Is that the Black Eyed Peas?" - She will love it! Or at least you can get her laughing.
Oh, and I almost forgot, be sure to look her in the eyes when you talk to her. Hold your head up high, don't slouch, and smile. Don't appear stiff, don't gawk, and don't smile in a creepy way, just be yourself (your confident self). Girls are impressed by confidence (not to be confused with cockiness) more so than any other attribute of the male species.
Thie next step is getting her to laugh, even if it is at your expense (BUT not TOO MUCH - don't become a clown). If she is laughing at your jokes, you know that she is at least somewhat interested.
There you have it my friends! No great secret, no fancy pick up lines, just a straight and simple strategy. One that I have used successfully for over 10 years. The key is adapting to the situation, the surroundings, and showing a genuine interest in the girl you are talking to. The reason it works so well, is that girls are not used to be seriously listened to by the guys who hit on them (the guys usually start by talking about themselves). If you start off by talking about her, she will be blown away!
The Ice Breaker Stratgey gives you the key to starting dialogue. I will provide a follow up article on the keys to keeping her interested once she shows she is interested (which can be the most challenging part and the part most guys tend to screw up on). But for now, just try the Ice Breaker Strategy and see how you go.
Remember, be genuine, show respect and understanding, and be the type of guy that a girl like her would want to waste her time chatting with. Treat females well, and the results will be absolutely stunning.

Men Read Like Women - Survey Says
A Recent survey asked men about the magazines they read on a weekly basis. Among the top 10 were the typical Maxim, FHM, Forbes etc. but what was surprising was that various women's magazines also showed up on the list, such as Cosmo.
When probed further, 88% of men admitted to reading women's magazines on either a weekly basis, in the bathroom, or simply out of boredom.

He's Just Not That Cool - The bad date exit strategy
The women know this experience all too well. You go out on a date with a guy, he is good looking, well dressed, and extremely polite, but mid-way through the date you suddenly realize that he is just not that cool. So what do you do?
Do you make up an excuse, and bail on the date early?
Do you fake ill and pretend to run to the bathroom, when actually you run out the front door and accross the street to meet your friends for a recovery drink?
Or do you play polite and smile through the whole date, while dreaming of the sexy bartender working only feet from where you are sitting?
Honestly, I have no freakin clue. But there are a bunch of guys out there who would love to know if they have been the victim of a bad date exit strategy.
So Weigh in ladies, and share your bad date exit strategies!

Staring at Her Tah Tahs
So you are having a chat with an extremely good-looking girl, and uncontrollably your eyes begin to wonder from her forehead, to her nose, to her lips, to her chin, to her neck, and then doooowwwn, to the one zone that is always on display but guys are not supposed to stare at!
A zone so magnificent that it makes every red-blooded male's pulse race and palms go sweaty. The one area that the male species does not have (or shouldn't have) but wants to enjoy over and over again, uncontrollably.
Ok, so enough beating around the bush (ha ha, no pun intended) we are talking about the breasts.
The absolute worst thing you can do on a date is spend the whole evening staring at her chest, but is this even possible? I doubt it! It is like the Kobayashi Maru (geeky Star Trek reference) a test that cannot be beat, a no win scenario.
When women dress for a date, they want to look sexy; they want guys to look at them with desire. Heck, men do that to, with varying degrees of success. But when a woman shows up for a date in a low cut dress, and everything pushed up to sit front and center, it is simply to hard (get your head out of the gutter) to not stare in admiration.
So is it ok?
I have no idea, but I suspect it is.
I find that women tend to get mad when you talk to their chest all evening, yet it doesn't seem to stop them from wearing a low-cut dress on the next date you go on. If it really was a problem, I think that you would see more girls wearing turtlenecks, but you don't. I have also found that some women get insulted if you don’t (at least at some point) stare at their chest. Sounds crazy, but as long as you do not stare in a creepy kind of way, it can be quite flattering to some women.
So, what to do about this seemingly unbeatable test of will and mental toughness? Take your peaks at strategic points throughout the date, such as when she is talking to the waiter, digging in her purse, sending a text, or when you are helping her put on her coat. Then, every now and again let her catch you doing it, and allow yourself to get embarrassed, even give a sheepish smile. This lets her know that you are not a creepy guy, just an admirer of her god given talents.
- Happy dating my friends!
